Chiron is considered survival according to some authors, though survivalist instincts have long been attributed to Pluto. Before you decide this point, bear in mind that the Chirotic and Plutonic forces have a peculiar relationship that I will bring to light later on.
The survivalist force is in close relationship to the force necessary to bring life into existence. This too is a Plutonic principle. But this is not the same as a Plutonic experience. Chirotic experience and force is not destruction; but much rather a violent form of salvation and healing. Chiron “transmutes” the harsh experience into something useful while Pluto quite directly destroys but not in the same manner as Uranus. Uranus too has a benevolent, though violent, principle. Pluto outright does not care about your survival, thereby furthering the survivalist edge. Here we find a relationship between Chiron and Pluto: With Pluto’s destruction you find how to survive at all costs.
Chiron demands that in-order to survive one must TRANSMUTE into something inferred but not said until analysis can be provoked by the extremity of an experience that quite directly demands change and learning, or face a malicious and insidious form of destruction from denial from within.
Chiron’s lessons are so painful that they force you to MUTATE (mutate truly being the key word). As Uranus’s destruction leaves behind pieces to put back together….Pluto leaves nothing to be formed but all to be synthesized. In its wake…he simply does not care about your survival. Chiron however does not destroy all, but acts as a sort of cleansing by Occult knowledge or experience. Chiron by no means is the light. Chiron’s endowment of occult knowledge may be even greater than that of Lilith. The pondering as to why one suffers seeks out cause.
Almost everything with Chiron aspects have something to do with a further and darker knowledge of something relating to the aspects of the planets involved. It is in this relationship of relating that infers that Chiron has a certain so called-”second hold”-over the individual, as if the Sun(ego) and Aries(the living self and motivation) are both entailed. Chiron represents our ability to change and identify not by that which is in the light and easy to see, but by that which is hidden and yet always present.
As if seeing a shadow but not from where it stems, Chirotic knowledge is gleaned from a sort of blind experience. A delusion for some, but one that proves true in the end. It is Something that is judged ignorantly according to its parts until it is compiled into one air-tight lesson.
From there Chiron bears a certain relationship to Faith. One does not see Chiron in life from the native point of view. The onlooker is a completely different story; Though it IS a connection not made during the process, Chiron is in a relationship to the mind’s control and from there the control over the body. In this way it bridges the gap of consciousness.

Chiron is initiatory awareness. This initiatory process of Chiron is stimulated through suffering but only in-order to achieve a specified lesson about the particular subject of the placement of Chiron in the chart. This awareness that is created by the harshness of the lesson rules our state of mind in one specific fashion and our state of mind creates our reality and therefore our physical reality.
As Uranus rules the right brain and so too Saturn rules the left, Chiron bridges the gap almost as a sort of Corpus Callosum. Unfortunately, due to this higher self, this spirituality of the mind and the mind ruling the body there is almost always a physical and mental struggle at hard aspects to Chiron’s orbit.
At its first square around 12 to 15, young girls become concerned with sex and losing their virginity or being confronted by the terror of incest or rape; and young males often find themselves in their first violent altercations’. By the Opposition at or around 25yoa women may become very sexually active and become pregnant while the rate for physical harm to the individual male skyrockets at the very specific age of 25. Something to note…these are the ages of puberty and mental maturity for males and a rather commonly accepted physical peak for females. At the next square at or around 37 to 38 a rather odd circumstance of events unfolds 3 fold. It is the age of the next Saturn square and the beginning of the opposition to Uranus. 38 years of age is crucial.

Hence Suicide at 25, psychotic breaks and the emergence and diagnosis of, mental illness occurs. This is a time of contemplation for males. This Opposition is the first real almost livable experience offering up Transmutation as a solution to the problem that Chiron is imposing at that age. Men commit suicide out of retrospection and contemplation or commit murder and women become pregnant. The brain becomes fully developed and mature at or around Chiron opposition hence Chiron may be linked to Physical maturity though not necessarily physical growth…that is more of a Jupiter/Uranus factor.
In this age-related progressive development there are 5 major growth breakthroughs. Chiron’s opposition at 25, Saturn’s return at 30, Uranus’s opposition at 38 to 44, Chiron return at 50, and the breaking of the 4th plain of reality. The plains are as such: 1. Experiential, 2. Physical, 3. Emotional or Astral, 4. Mental, and 5. Soul are provoked, stimulated and fostered into relative existence. The first level of consciousness is the physical. Then is the transition of the physical to the emotional at Saturn Return. Next comes the emotional to the intellectual at the Uranus opposition. This is the time of the working of the North Node. This is the period where we are to use the force contributed by the Uranus opposition to create our Magnum Opus. For women this is markedly the posturing to the onset of menopause. All this breeds the Spiritual maturity by the age of the Chiron return at 50. Parents often find themselves becoming grandparents by this age, women become Matriarchs, and Men become Patriarchs, while some write and create their later works, which are often the full completion of their Magnum opus. Case in point would be the completion of Goethe’s Faust in his later age.
It’s in these processes that Chiron is said to be the Teacher of mastery and he uses nothing less than the most extreme pain in-order to FORCE the individual’s placement of Chiron to be activated and to adhere enough pain that the individual will be forced to Trans-mutate in order to survive.
Though Chiron is a persistent and consistent destruction, a siege of sorts for the individual, it is NOT done with the ease of Saturn’s inferred death, Pluto’s implied destruction or Uranus’s violent revolution; instead, it is torture with all the insidious and malicious implications of consistent degradation and pain. Chiron is a shadow experience, one that is gleaned until learned and then only through the only option of TRANSMUTATION can one subside from the pain(note. One subsides from the pain not the pain from the one.)
Let me be conflictual with my unattached and book learned contemporaries; Chiron IS pain! Any healing is a forced gleaning to Mutate into something that one was not naturally born to be or experience as a shadow. In this way there is a separation between the incarnating factor of Pluto and the all too elusive experience of a soul’s pain The consistent culmination of the suffering that is Chiron.
I may be abrasive with my contemporaries, but mind you….. look at your own incessant struggles associated with your Chiron placement, and any belief that Chiron is some sort of beautiful healing becomes a vulgar false distribution of an insulated astrologers experience and an outright lie. So let’s be honest at least with ourselves, if the astrologer won’t . Chiron is Pain!
