Introduction to numerology

In today’s world many are not aware of the concept of Numerology, though it was prevalently used by many cultures during ancient times. The coined phrase, “Father of Numerology”, was given to a famous mathematician by the name of Pythagoras, who correlated numbers with many different elements of the living world, including Dates, Places, Events, Astrology, etc. Also known as Sankhyatatvwa, Hindu/Arabic origin, this form and study of numbers is used as a philosophical and spiritual study of numbers, their patterns, and how they resonate within the world around us, rather than the more physical representation of numbers through mathematics. If it is desired, I can write more on the subject of Numerology’s history and prevalent uses, but that is a subject for another time; and only for those who wish to delve deeper into the histories of things. For
now, my main mission for this blog is to go into the basic understanding of how to work with numerology and how to get you on your way to working with this system of thought.

While Mathematics uses basic and complex equations to calculate the physical relationship between numbers and the observable world, Numerology uses a basic formula to break larger numbers down to a basic 1-digit number by adding the numbers together until the answer is one digit.

I like to call these 1- digit numbers “Master Numbers”, which include the numbers 1 through 9, and hold their own spiritual resonance and/or meaning, which I will go into later. A commonly used practice of finding your “Life Path” number, for example, utilizes this basic concept of
Numerology and Master Numbers: Your Life Path number is derived from your full birth date. I’ll use April 1 st , 1969 as an example. Writing the date down as a full number, or 4/1/1969, you follow this process – (4 + 1 + 1 + 9 + 6 + 9) – which comes to a total of 30. 30 is not yet a Master Number, so we break 30 down again – (3 + 0) – which comes to a total of 3. A person born on April 1 st 1969 would have a Life Path number of 3. A helpful link, https://thenumerologyhandbook.com/life-path-numbers/life-path-number-3/
If you would like to look up the meaning of a Life Path 3 from one perspective. This same process can be used with any and all numbered combinations, but also can be utilized with within letters of our alphabet. As seen in the Table Below:

This concept allows you to find a Number associated with a Letter, which gives you the ability to use numerology with words. A good example of using Numerology with words would be to find out the numerological meaning behind your name, such as ADAM: ADAM = 1414

Numerology = (1)+(4)+(1)+(4) = 10 = (1)+(0) = 1

But there are many schools of thought when it comes to its interpretation. Some philosophies utilize the numerological numbers to find meaning, while others translate the letters themselves and the meanings behind each letter. I have my own interpretations within Alpha and Numeric translation and transliteration philosophy as well and will go into those in detail in my later posts. So!!! Welcome to Numerology! Pull up a chair and let’s dive into these old-world ideas together. And remember, Numerology is a philosophy of patterns, symbology, and a way to open your mind to different ways of perceiving the world around you. Depending on the philosophies you choose to follow will depend on the translations you get out of it. This universe is like an Onion; for every layer you pull back you will find something new and exciting to pursue. So let’s have fun with this, and keep ourselves flexible in our minds eye, and peel the layers back together.
